FIC: Earthquake Minifill

Title: Earthquake Minifill
Rating: PG-13 (For possible impending death?)
Pairings/Characters: Kid Flash and Robin, no pairing unless you squint.
Warnings: None that I can think of.
Summary: There's been an Earthquake at Mount Justice and poor Robin and Kid Flash are trapped in a bathtub.

A/N: Short minifill for the Earthquake prompt over at yj_anon_meme on livejournal, finally rewrote the beginning after it was suggested that Wally and Dicks positions were rather confusing. Hope the rewrite clarified that a wee-bit. x\ I want to expand on this but with school getting ready to start up again probably wont happen. *sadface* Any and all feedback welcome!

Dick shifted to try and relieve some of the numbness from lying in the bathtub for so long while he he clenched his eyes closed trying to keep the cold water from stinging them. He was gripping the lapels of Wally's jacket trying to offer some show of support while the speedster used his back to keep the wreckage above them from falling. Plus, focusing on keeping his grip on the red heads clothing kept him from mentally freaking out as he counted down the minutes left on his rebreather. He tried not to cringe as he hit the fifteen minute mark. Another twenty and he would be a dead bird.

Above Dick, Wally ground his teeth together as he tried to keep his locked elbows from quivering. He had been in the same position providing a somewhat support for the debris above and to keep his weight off Dick so the kid could breath unimpeded but his muscles where starting to tire and shake and he needed a break. "Dude, ugh, I don't know if you can hear me but, um, I don't think I can stay in this position for much longer. My arms are turning into jell-o. I need a rest and well, hate to ask this, but if you could totally prop me up for a few that would be awesome."

Taking a deep breath Dick uncurled his hands from his friends jacket and laid them flat against Wally's chest and locked his joints so they could bear the teens weight. Dick knocked his leg up against Wally's to let him know he could relax. The Boy Wonder grunted as 130 pounds of speedster began pressing down against him. He could do this, the strain of holding Wally up would only use up a few extra minutes. It would be fine. Asterous even.

"Just a few more seconds, promise, just need to rest." Wally took a deep breath cringing as he felt the water touch the tip of his nose. Help had to be on the way, this was not how they were going to go out. He and Dick were supposed to go down fighting not slowly freezing and drowning in a damn bathtub because the mountain apparently wasn't Earthquake proof. Which, what the hell? Had the league seriously not thought of that possibility when they built the stupid place? Seriously? Wally brought a wobbly hand to his forehead and wiped away sweat before he submerged both hands back into the water and settled them against the bottom of the tub on either side of Dick.

"Okay, you can let go. 'M good."

Dick let his arms drop to his chest, too tired to clutch at his best friends jacket. He felt like he was breathing through a straw; like he wasn't getting enough oxygen. His chest felt tight, constricted, as if there were a great weight pressing down on him. The thirteen year old started to bounce his leg in an attempt to try and calm his nerves. He could swear it felt like his throat was swelling.

"Dick?" Wally let his hand slip so his wrist was pressed against the side of the raven haired boys chest. The kid was breathing too fast, something was wrong. "Dick? You gotta calm down dude. You're breathing way to fast, you're not getting the full effect of the rebreather, you've gotta slow your breathing down." The kid should know that. What the heck was going on?

Dick brought his hand up and pressed it tightly against the rebreather trying to reposition the apparatus but it didn't help. It still felt like he was breathing through a coffee stirrer. Oh God. Something was stuck in his throat, it hurt, it felt like there was ice freezing the muscles in his throat! Dick shoved up against Wally trying to push the teen out of the way, he needed air, he needed to breathe, he couldn't take this! He just needed to breathe.

Wally shifted to the left as best as he could cringing as the wreckage above him groaned and hissed at being jostled. "Dude, Bro, Dick, man, you have to calm down. It's going to be okay but you freaking out, right at this point in time? Not helping our situation. Here," Wally grabbed one of his friends flailing hands and pressed it against his chest, letting Dick feel his chest expand and contract as he breathed slowly. "Now, breath with me okay? We'll do counts of three, In on three, hold for three, out on three, okay?" Wally waited and felt a knock against his leg and grinned. "Good, one, two, breath in." Wally took a deep breath in. "Two three and out, two three." Wally slowly released the breath. "Good. One, two, breath in, two three, out, two three. Again. One, two, breath in, two three, out two three."

Wally continued the small breathing exercise till he felt Dick curl his shaking hand around the zipper of his soaked jacket. "Good, doing good." The red head gripped his best friends hand tight for just a second before releasing the limb and bracing his hand back against the tub. Wally closed his eyes and listened to the rhythmic sound of bubbles rising to the surface of the water. He wasn't sure how much more he could take. Being in the small confined space of the tub was driving him nuts. He didn't like that he couldn't move freely. He hated being constricted. And then add the fact that his best friend had just had an episode of some sort, the whole mountain of debris waiting to crush them, the freezing cold water of either the mountains pipes or sea water slowly swallowing them, and he had just about had it. He wanted to scream. This whole situation was ridiculous. He hoped that help was on its way, and at the cold touch of water against his chin and nose, he prayed it would be soon.
